What is a community of practice?
A community of practice is a group of people who share a common concern or passion and come together with a facilitator to deepen their knowledge through ongoing interactions (Wenger, McDermott, & Snyder, 2002).
Communities of Practice (CoPs) at The University of Alabama are created and organized by members of the campus community and provide opportunities to learn, contribute, collaborate, and innovate.
Communities of Practice in the Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education
The Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education will build two Communities of Practice in 2022-23, and we welcome your proposals. Please contact us at ccsfacultydev@ccs.ua.edu if you have an interest in a particular topic or would like to facilitate a Community of Practice.
